Constipation as such is not a disease but a symptom. Difficulty during defecation is called as constipation. Incidence may vary from 2% to 30% from younger to elder, both male and female. Normal length of time between bowel movements ranges widely from person to person. Some may have 3 times per day, some may have once or 3 days once, but 3 days without bowel movement is too long and after 3 days the stools becomes harder and more difficult to pass.
As such constipation may be shameful, sometimes it is depressing, makes the sufferer anxious, agonizing, and debilitating. It is embarrassing if you tell your friend that you cannot go to restaurant, with them because you are all backed you may be shy if your abdomen has bloated up.

WHAT IS CONSTIPATION?
Infrequent bowel movements is called as constipation. In most cases, this occur because the colon has absorbed too much of the water from the food that is in the colon. The slower the food moves through digestive tract, the more water the colon will absorb from food, consequently the feces become dry and hard.
CAUSES OF CONSTIPATION:
- Inadequate water intake.
- Inadequate fiber in the diet.
- Inadequate physical activity.
- Stress.
- Pregnancy.

- Hypercalcaemia.
